Harry Potter Sunday, July 19, 2009
I caught Harry Potter today and really, it wasn't bad like others made it out to be. The only bummer was that the introduction of the story wasn't of gradual intensity but just delved straight into the heart of the story.

Call it a sudden gift bestowed from heaven, I was given 4 days of MC at the beginning of this week for my incessant cough and diahorrea. Not the usual feat I must say and I have the H1N1 to thank for.
Have you ever heard of late bloomers?
The term is used metaphorically to describe a child or adolescent who develops more slowly than others in their age group, but eventually catches up and in some cases overtakes their peers, or an adult whose talent or genius in a particular field only appears later in life than is normal - in some cases only in old age.
I think I am one. No seriously, I only manage to do the wonderful a step later than others always.
I'm of age and I definitely need to hone my skills for my future. There comes a point when focus will be the pivotal point of blooming a particular genius in my life and probably that'll be my destiny. Diversifying is good but it comes at a later stage. Focus is the main thing now. Then again, what do I really wanna do?

Have you seen Obsessed yet?
It's the catfight of the year I tell you.
Beyonce was really into character and as usual the au naturel Ali Larter in her element and doing her thing.

Sometimes I'm just so sad and demoralised by the fact that people are clearly taking advantage of my kindness. Am I really such an easy push-over?
I want to be strong and firm yet not turn out to be a meanie at the same time cos it's not in my nature to be mean.
Oh god, I need to find that confidence.

I've always loved saving money. Imagine the rush of excitement through your being when you see the morass of dollar bills in your piggy bank after painstakingly saving for say, the last few months?
In modern terminology, the bank very well represents the young innocent piggy bank, except for the innocent part I guess cos there's always an evil ATM card in the picture beguiling you to withdraw some cash. The bank has so many different ways to allow an outlet for your cash and in due time, you realise you're left with nothing much. Okay, maybe I'm just justifying the lack of self-control to spend. Ha-ha.
Needless to say, I'm never saving enough (or at all) since I possessed my first Debit Card. I tried to curb that incessant spending on useless stuff but it proved fruitless nonetheless. Away went the good old traditional habit of saving and all joy with it. For a period, I tried withdrawing a 100 bucks every month and hiding it in the box in my cupboard. The problem with hiding the cash was, I knew where to find it.
Then I discovered the MySavings account scheme provided by POSB. Here's how it works:
Every month, I can set a specific amount of cash on a specific date to go from my main account to the MySavings account. This account does not have any withdrawal cards with it and you need to personally go down to the bank to withdraw any cash. Taking into account my laziness, I don't think I would bother queueing up in a bank and thus, I save money. Ha-ha.
On top of this, I also applied for iBanking so that I can do my funds transfer online.
We will see how long this will last?
Hopefully, I would have saved my first 2 thousand by end of this year.

It's been one whole long week of duty and I'm finally home. I won't say it's total hell because I did have the TV (with a faulty antenna), DVDs and all the time worth to indulge in some reading, say about a whole issue of TIME mag and almost half a book of iCon: Steve Job's biography within two days.
As I'm thumping my fingers away on my iMac keyboard, I cannot help but be in awe of the whole Apple Revolution. By reading the Steve's bio, I've been taken on a trip witnessing nothing then to greatness today, owing to the sheer vision Steve had for the computer and a lot of hard work. Vision will drive one to do amazing things! I wanna be great like him in the future. Ha-ha.
Here's the very first advertisement Apple came out with:
And before becoming great, I need to be well-equipped.
Thus, I'm going through my prospectus for a few courses in SIM university before choosing one. No doubt, I didn't land myself a place in one of the three main universities in Singapore but I believe with hard work, I still can fare well in life with a degree from the fourth university. Greatness one day. Hardwork now.
