China and all it's worth.
Sunday, November 30, 2008

It seems like the scare from the inferiority of China's products hasn't been totally evicted.

All the world is celebrating as Britney strutter her way through 3 stages in one week.
Her single, 'Womanizer':

I came across an article in Time mag speaking about how our brain; the most sophisticated data processing machine can end up being flat-out crude when it comes to dealing matters of race.
Your brain almost immediately responds with danger and alert whenever it captures images of people of a different color. It becomes an unconscious bias; a hatred you subconsciously embrace. A primal wiring.
However, the saving grace of this is when you think about people as individuals, the brain calms down.

Now you know the root of racism and all it's evil.
Take the test and find out for yourself.

I'll do this in a jiffy.
For the record, I've stayed in camp for the whole week and I haven't seen my home, much less feel my soft satin sheets nor the ultimate twang of hitting on my Imac's keyboard. I see the same faces and hear the same voices every single day. Gosh, I guess I am really missing home or rather, the outside air itself.

Facebook is like a window.
From time to time, I'll peer through the light seeping through it's grilles and watch the people party-ing up their oh-so-exciting lives. Then I'll look at mine and say, 'oh boy, I think my life isn't that bad man!'

Cos I have Jesus in me.
And my party-ing during the weekends has a good meaning to it.
After all, He is the ecstacy.

I was watching X-factor on Youtube and this girl caught my attention.
She sounds unique in every sense of the word.

Sometimes life isn't all that fair.
Problems come rushing up in your face, yes, you had better days.
You look at others and you shrink passively.
You wonder why do things turn out the way they do.
You wonder if things would've been better if you had tried a little harder.
You wonder why you even started at all.
You feel like cratering on the floor. Oh that behemoth mercurial temper!
Where in the world did all your friends go to?
The day's too grim to contemplate.
Eyes flashing, jaws clenched, oozing sarcasm and disdain.
The moment cries out for someone to make sense of it all.

Then... you remember someone named Jesus.

Light up, light up

As if you have a choice

Even if you cannot hear my voice

I'll be right beside you dear

Louder louder

And we'll run for our lives

I can hardly speak I understand

Why you can't raise your voice to say

To think I might not see those eyes

Makes it so hard not to cry

And as we say our long goodbye

I nearly do

For sheer elegance of Leona's lush vocals, there's no equivalent.

The epitome of the voice of an angel.

Beautiful.

Crack the shutters
Monday, November 17, 2008

Gosh, it's back to army in a few hours' time.
I don't like that feeling not one bit. It's that psychological cycle of how you are too reluctant to get out when you are inside cos you're afraid you'll be stuck in the cycle of feeling the sian-sation on Sundays so why even begin in the first place, might as well stay inside and on the other hand, when you are outside, you do your best to extend your time by arraying yourself with the top weapons of the trade: MCs, Leaves and Offs.
Anyway, let's digress for a moment.
Let me tell you of how I am eating like crazy when I'm outside. Yesterday, I had beef pepper rice@ Pepper Lunch, 3 servings of ice-cream and on top of that, 2 funny looking biscuit lookalike things.
Today, I had 2 servings of cheese cake on top of my lunch. As they say, confirm fat lah!

Maybe it's just a bodily reaction to the emotional fit I'm going through in army?
I dunno.

Go listen to 'Crack The Shutters' by Snow Patrol.
Have fun.

I think I just shrunk to a jeans size 30.
My Flesh Imp skinny jeans size 32 is dropping off my waist despite wearing it only once. Looks like I have to shop for a new pair.

I'm craving for Bratwurst Sausages

I think there's a limit to the niceties I offer you all and if you decide to climb on my head, I will make you pay ten-fold.

Assistant Company Orderly Sergeant or ACOS is a coined term on company level, in other words, it isn't really an official position. The word Assistant that is strung along with the actual position- title sometimes gives a lot of room for tyranny. Oh, hell no. I will never let that happen to me.

Bloody SOB.
It cannot get more straight-forward than that.

I applauded the moment the D.O. killed you.
Were you wetting your pants then, eh Mr. Smart Alec?
It was that moment when your peacock feathers were ruffled, leaving your soul in a dishevel. How I wish I could grab you by the neck, you sick bird. Nah, easier ways to kill you in 1,2 and 3.

Saving grace
Friday, November 14, 2008

Oh hear the wonderful sound of the falling rain pelting on your window panes.
It's here again. The monsoon.
Definitely one of the best times of the year when the sky seem so gloomy with dark clouds carpeting the skies, something starts to brighten up inside of me.  What can I say, I simply love the rain.

And I hope it drowns out every single sorrow of the world

cos Christmas is coming.

Oh jolly! I've taken enough leave from army to leave me grinning till the end of the year.

Fo shizzle mah nizzle doggy fizzle tellivizzle!

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Hi there, it's me again.
This will be a short one cos I need to get up early tomorrow morning.

There will be a CSS com event tomorrow which also means everyone gets half a day off.
How nice. Apparently, everyone needs to be at the Jurong West Stadium at 0730 for attendance taking. I think that it's gonna be exciting coz they made it out as if it's some mega fun-fair going on with the coupons, games and all.  Well, I'll see about that tomorrow.

Anyway, I'm pretty nervous cos I'm taking my theory test at night.
Oh yes baby, I'm gonna get my civilian license soon.

Once Friday is done, I'll scoot back to camp in my over-sized greens on Saturday morning for ACOS duty till the following day.

We'll talk about Sunday when the day draws nearer.
Goodnight.

deal or no deal
Monday, November 10, 2008

Seek me a beautiful life- one filled with excitement, happiness and everything in between.
I'll give you 50 cents.

8:01 PM

Then came the rush of blood through my veins causing my face to gush with red and eyes to water. I couldn't stand upright and soon my entire composure was flat. The throbbing in my head started. My veins pulsated so quickly, I almost ripped my head apart.

It was probably was a moment's folly to win my friends' appreciation. My emotional intelligence beggars my intellect which left me quite catatonic with guilt after a while.

But it was too late.
I was wasted.

ORD when ah?
Thursday, November 06, 2008

I'm at home while typing this entry.
It's been a long week and I'm feeling rather perturbed at the thought of having to do duty on Friday and being able to book out only on Saturday and in a blink of an eye, Sunday comes like the wind; unknowingly but surely.

I'm not sure why but I'm experiencing bouts of giddy spells and bodily convulsions from time to time. Like today, I was in the bunk reading some stuff and when my friend asked me to let him in because the door was locked, I stood up and dragged myself to the door whilst feeling a sudden vertigo and then the next thing I found myself on the floor and it was only when I literally felt a bump on my ass that I regained composure, feeling quite puzzled by the whole bizarre experience.
Did I actually faint within that 4-5 seconds when I reached out for the door?

Fainted or not, Sai-kang had to be done and worse still-under the spill of the hot sun.

Another way to die
Monday, November 03, 2008

It's been a long time since I did some old-fashion running and today I've decided to break the record. I did about 10 rounds about the Yishun Stadium running track.Yeah, it sure feels good. I've realised that I always exercise when I feel bored now instead of indulging in all kinds of food then. It must be good progress. I guess once you're in the army long enough, your brain will be automatically re-wired to love exercise and it's glorious results. But then again, I still do see fat people in camp. Okay, it probably only worked for me.
Whatever it is, I must get rid of the fatty residue about my stomach area and pls gimme broader shoulders for goodness sake. Comparing past photos and current ones, I think my shoulders are shrinking like a prune which is very unflattering. Damn. Balance is never easy.

People always ask me how I became thinner and I could never reciprocate with a proper answer. After much thought, I can give you an answer today.

Jeremy got thinner because he was generally bored on most days
and instead of fluttering in the land of wonderful eating, Jeremy forced on himself some brute exercises to tire himself out so that he wouldn't have the energy to feel bored.
In conclusion, boredom indeed can lead to constructive results.

I'm just blabbering away.
Oh by the way, there's a new song by Taylor Swift which I like and I almost put it on repeat on my iPod/iTunes but decided not to cos I didn't want to remove the novelty of the song.
The title is,

You're not Sorry

and the cover-art of the album itself is brilliance.
Just take a look at the hair. It sure looks like fire doesn't it?

I can't believe I  left everything for greener pastures only to end up with a cow.

My day
Saturday, November 01, 2008

Today was quite an exciting day to begin with. I woke up at about 11.15 am and decided to watch Saw V. Wow, how apt for a day like Halloween. Ha-ha. And who else to pull along for my wonderful embarkment besides Derrick? Yes, an adolescent like me who is just finding some excitement in Singapore. And if the person at the ticketing booth was any less lenient in checking the ICs, Derrick would be sadly turned away.

Saw wasn't that scary and hence it wasn't that impressionable. I remembered more scenes from the movie House Bunny than Saw apparently. The show ended at approximately 2.45pm.
Joseph arrived at Cineleisure promptly at that time to meet Derrick and I. Donning a grey teeshirt and knee length bermudas with his white school shoes, he looked almost too adorable. His first trip outside Bishan on his own. Kudos.

Derrick, Joseph and I decided on BK for lunch. That was when Charlotte came to meet us.
Took a couple of photos before walking to The Cathay for CS LAN gaming. Ha-ha, I haven't touched this game for a while now but it brought back fond childhood memories.
We made the kill for 2 hours straight.
Charlotte left after the game.
Enter Zelia at about 6.30pm.
She needs to de-stress cos the Os are killing her and who else to hang out with besides Sclub?
Ha-ha. Okay, our actual plan was to have dinner at Astons but there was a really long queue outside and we decided against waiting. Our plan: Play Rockband then have dinner at Prata Hse. This will save us lots of moolah.

And so Rockband happened. It's addictive I tell you.
Just pin your eyes on the screen and soon your brain and fingers would interconnect and all you see are the color bars. Not easy but really fun. And bloody expensive.
Too bad there weren't any nice pictures taken cos the man heralding the counter saw the camera flash light and warned us against taking photos within the premises.

We did mee-goreng and prata at Prata House at night.
The hunger was appeased.

Cabbed home.
