She's local and she is able to sing such heart-gripping melodies, really nice.
Not everyone is blessed with the special gift of real singing.

This is actually a real music video to a real upcoming song from Paris Hilton.
Paris for president
Omg?!

Anyway, Pink's new album rocks.

Heroes episode 7 is out and it's way too exciting to be comprehended within the span of this sentence.
Go watch.

By the way, I'm clearing my leave a day at a time and I'm thoroughly enjoying my time at home. Sorry, I do not have the luxury of being a stay-out personnel hence I take pleasure indulging in leaves and offs- as a matter of fact, I do have 11 days to clear within 2 months otherwise the company would gladly burn it.

The company. Oh dear, it's here again. I'm linguistically inclined with Heroes, I realised.

The black hole that swallows you
Monday, October 27, 2008

I took the entry out because I do not want to start a pointless fight with you.
I've only got this to say:
Come to think of it, I may be wrong. But what if I'm right?
Many bigger things in life to focus on and I hope my minute post of in-depth feelings wasn't one of your considerations. If you have already chosen to bother about it, then point clearly made.

Oh but rest assure that I would not chicken out to put up my actual post if you clearly want it just in case you need it for all the background movements. I'll gladly be of assistance.

dream of a kind
Sunday, October 26, 2008

I had a damn cool and exciting dream last week and it seemed almost surreal; as if I was really within it's dimensions.
Basically, I dreamt that the world was in darkness and everyone was panicking.
It was like the Armageddon or something- bah what do I know about the end of the world right? lol. On top of this, there were enemies who were plaguing the peace.
Enter myself. I discovered that I had the amazing ability to- okay don't laugh- wield the elements rain and lightning. Ha-ha. Yes, just like Storm in X-men.
Omg. It was really exciting.
I carpeted the sky with dark clouds and pulled down rain and lightning from it. Oh yes, I also killed a few enemies. Not sure who the enemies were but I pictured them as random figures.

I'm not sure what got into me that night to have a random dream like that. But hell yeah, it was a thrill-ride. Maybe, I'm watching too much Heroes.
Well, everyone loves a little out-of-this-world once in a while.

Life's too normal...

Saturday, Sunday, Monday...
It's a long weekend. Thank God.
Such a thing happens quite rarely and you can feel the stoke of excitement on Friday itself.

My camp did a half-day today and everyone was allowed to book out at 2pm.
Sounds good? Well, the only underlying catch for this euphoria would be that everyone's attendance was compulsory for the 'Deeparaya' event held at Chevron from 5:30pm-10pm.
Firstly, 'Deeparaya' sounded like a cheesy piece-together of the words 'Deepavali' and 'Hari Raya' and I thought my camp came out with such a word to accommodate the two festivities' celebrations. Then I did a check on Wikipedia and surprisingly, there was such a word.
Chevron was located at Jurong East and not surprisingly, there were people (Chinese especially) who wanted to skip the entire function until my CSM treacherously gave the ultimatum that those who didn't turn up would be thoroughly disciplined.
In the end, everyone did cos his word was law after all.
But whether the people stayed for the entire event is another story.
The whole thing wasn't that bad except for the food being quite sucky.

I quietly left at 8pm and headed to Bishan to meet my friend for the movie, Tropic Thunder. The movie was a great. I shall not go into it's details but you should watch it while you still can.

Got home after that.
All I need now is some ass-kicking schedule for the next three days to get my adrenaline pumping before heading back to army.

By the way, I got myself a PES downgrading from B to C1L2.
It is gratifying in some ways but it still doesn't satisfy the my undying main aim of getting an official excuse from driving.
Notice I used the word 'official' cos in reality, I've got the excuse unofficially from my Coy's 2IC which I thought was really a big step. Now all I need is to be excused from staying-in a.k.a 8-5pm. I'm working on it.

I'm gonna get this.

1:30 PM

I just woke up after having some dreams
and one of them being

- singing backup vocals in church

It's weird cuz I haven't had dreams for a long time.
Nostalgic.
I miss it actually.

12:03 PM

I know it's an issue that I keep harping on but I just want to let the world know that my parquet floor coloring is nicely touched up with a similar colored paint made specially for wooden platforms. Ooo, it's perfect.

I've been out of army for the entire week mainly because of the funeral. Thing is, I didn't really go out on a proper 'enjoyment outing' or whatever you name it until Friday. Okay so we'll cut the details and fast forward to Friday. Basically I was walking up and down town; passing in and out shop after shop for quite a number of times cos I really wanted to get something by the day's end. I don't really know if I got the stuff cos I needed them or just to satisfy the insatiable (ooo, the irony) craving to spend some good money. Nonetheless, who can deny retail therapy?

So what did I get in the end?
A black squarish sling bag with a leather flap for it's cove
r from Fourskinstore. Ah yes, that's exactly the same store I got my flashy jeans from. The bag ain't cheap but I liked it anyway and I guess that's what mattered. As long as it etches a smile across my face, I'll take it.
I was torn between getting a tee shirt and the bag and I concluded with the bag cos I thought that bags were items that can be used over many times without having people pin-pointing that I used the same thing recently unlike a tee shirt which you have to wear -my advice- alternate two to three weeks so avoid such a situation.

Oh, I conquered my untold fear of entering a New UrbanMale store this week.
Ha-ha.. I've got to admit, I didn't dare to enter any of the stores since the brand's appearance in 2006 cos it gave me a weird feeling. But this week I finally mustered enough courage to do so and to my pleasure and displeasure, I found out that besides them selling tops splashed with words of narcissism (their signature goods) and ending off with the brutal NUM signature at some parts of the tee, they had other brands like junkfood and glamour kills which I think are totally overpriced somehow.
Drools leh, I want the tee shirts from there cuz I really could not find a shop in town bringing in nicer designs than what NUM brought in. I also want the bloody havaianas that the whole world is wearing and showing off now.

I also want............. (: lol. shuddup lah.

I also visited Mooks. They are having a 1 for 1 promotion (buy two items for the price of one).
Maybe I'll get a tee and I'll ask Derrick to buy the other one.

Ah, there you have it. I just simplified my week and thoughts into an entry for your reading pleasure.
Pardon the stupid text, it's 5.32am and I had just finished watching Pokemon just for the sake of reliving my childhood.

4:56 AM

Hello tomorrow
Thursday, October 16, 2008

I've spent days thinking of a resolution for my dying parquet flooring color and the peels from the yellow wall in my room. Today I've concluded:

I shall buy those small tins of paint and just paint it over rather than replacing the spoilt tiles which my dad would take forever to get done. And for those scrapes on the wall, I shall use paint to touch up. Need be, I will have the entire wall repainted by Chinese New Year.

Speaking of genius,
Apple just popped out it's latest edition of Macbook; wrapped in matt aluminum that is similar to the Macbook Pro. I knew Apple would come to a decision like this someday!
Everyone just loves the brilliance of a matt outlook rather than the creativity-stifling black and white encasing.

I love Apple.
I'm an Apple evangelist.

Heroes
Tuesday, October 14, 2008

This is the character named Niki Sanders/Jessica portrayed by Ali Larter in the Heroes series. She apparently died in a huge fire back in Season 2. However, Ali Larter's character can be seen again in season 3 this time with the name Tracy Strauss which adds the whole mystery effect to the show. What I am thoroughly amazed is how the writers can make a character (for this case, actor) die and bring him/her back to life again without being too cheesy.

By the way, Mr Linderman is back.
But wait, didn't Jessica kill him back in season 2? Ah, that's the point of Heroes.
You need to watch to know it's story and it is unpredictability at it's best.

9:05 PM

The pest control man finally came earlier today to hit a few holes into the white ants infested areas of the house before spraying it with some chemical which he said will wipe out the entire colony of pests.

I still cannot stand the unsightly holes and the state of my parquet flooring after being ravaged by the ants.

Well, I guess I have to exercise patience and wait for the carpenter to come once this whole ants affair is over and done with- which would be quite some time from now.

Shopping
Monday, October 13, 2008

This week, I got myself these items:

- A blue v-neck tee from Fourskinstore
- A pair of metallic-coloured jeans (Silver) from Fourskinstore (30% off)
- One t-shirt from woonderland, Wheelock Place

+I gave my Oct tithing (which was worth it)

Now, I'm officially broke.

The grass is greener on the other side
Monday, October 06, 2008

Today was just like the any other day I spend in army - desperately hoping for it to end quickly.
Yeah, I just slept in the mess for almost half a day. Pig I know. Well, I didn't want to be spotted around the company corridors lest I was dragged by the neck to continue with my driving orientation.  You see, I am afraid of driving that bloody machine. Ha-ha.

My 'buddy' is on two days leave and I'm left quite alone in that hellhole. Talking about him, I can say that our relationship is rather ironic. We would chao-keng and do all the random stuff together just to alleviate the boredom yet I love scolding the shit out of him (just for the fun of it). His name is Soon Wei or abbreviated as S.W ONG on his name tag; just like how mine is tagged S.W. CHAN.
Now you see our affinity?

2pm tomorrow would be my medical review and I'm really pining all my hopes onto this visit. Oh man, I seriously clasp my hands in deep prayer! Please God, let me downgrade!
I totally dig the idea of becoming a lowly skunky clerk trapped behind the table, in front of the computer screen for nine hours a day (8-5pm).

Discovery:

I made a one this weekend.
I realised that the whole of Northeast Line (NEL) belongs to conglomerate SBS Transit instead of SMRT. Next time you take the NEL, try noticing the SBS Transit sticker.

Okay on another hand, maybe I'm slow to knowing this fact earlier.
