I just finished watching the concert DVD of Mariah Carey: The adventures of mimi. Given to me by the cg, I'm quite pleased with it. Really happy to receive it cos it was something I wanted to get sometime ago but did not due to the lack of money.
Mariah does classy so well and her songs are always on the positive mood.
Even the cover of the DVD looks stellar.

My church mates made my day today.
I was brought to this really cool looking restaurant on the second floor of a building where people pay they taxes for japanese high tea buffet. Revenue House was the name of the building and Nihon Mura the name of the restaurant. It was really well done up to host a unique atmosphere. There, I saw the sushi lined up nicely and gleaming under the lights as the conveyor belt made it's rounds. Behind the line was the chef painstakingly making the sushi.
We made our killing.
Fortunately, the food tasted as good as they looked. My friends and I ordered quite a number of everything. Honestly, we were able to eat so much only because of the 'secret rice-disposing technique' we used. I remember we did the same at Sakae Sushi one year ago. Effective then, effective now. Well, you cannot blame us for being kiasu cos rice does really make one damn full almost too quickly and let's just say we were doing the necessary.
We left around 530pm and some of us were craving for ice-cream. So the search began and soon we gravitated towards Andersen's ice-cream@novena sq 2. My goodness, the sight of the silky ice-cream in the array of tubs gave me wild flights of fantasy- I swear I wanted to 'bathe' myself in the ice-cream tubs. Haha.
Anyway, here's a picture of my present:

Oh yeah, in order to commemorate my 21st, I had my ear pierced.

It was a whole day in Malaysia today and it was sure fun scooting up and down different places; hunting for 'good buys'. Haha, well I got a couple of movie DVDs and the game Call of Duty 4: Modern Wars. Sad thing is, I cannot seem to properly install the game; always giving the error message 'DIRECTX has encountered an unresolvable error' during startup. I'm pretty sure my version of directx is the latest. Bah, forget it. I'll pass playing games.
The trip had my mum, my brother and I donning the widest glee because Malaysia simply has the cheapest stuff. Good stuff. Or maybe just cheap stuff that looks oh-so-good. You really never know what you'll find there. winks*
Anyway, my eyes are beginning to feel heavy and I'm still contemplating if I should watch one of the movie DVDs. Maybe. Maybe not.

With that proper salutation, I shall proceed to type my entry.
I'm sure you all are puzzled by that statement of ultimate angst in my last entry. Haha, well yes, my weekend plans were cut short when I received a phone call from the army demanding my attendance for the guard duty on Sunday. The army always shimmer and train in glam as portrayed in the media, speaking about L.I.V.E.-ing the best but sadly in the behind scene, things aren't always so perfect. People care less about doing their administrative work correctly and hence cock up the whole system down the line; affecting others... namely, me and two more poor souls who had to do the extra guard duty on Sunday. They promised us one off day for this, but really- does it matter anyway? The point is- they don't treat us with enough respect much less care about our precious time. They demand, they get. They use the words "I'll charge you" a lil too superfluously.

Caught the movie 'Money No Enough 2' earlier on today.
Verdict: It's a movie with really down-to-earth issues and strikes a chord with us Singaporeans.

There. My driving course has come to an end and I'll be returning to my unit tomorrow morning. Staying-in, again. I seriously love this stay-out lifestyle. As they say, 'all good things come to an end'. However on a lighter note, it's the National Day weekend and Friday's most likely gonna be half-day or something.
I think I'll probably go to Malaysia this coming Saturday to buy some stuff.

Went for CG today before going to The Manhattan Fish Market with Zelia, Derrick and Yong Sing to eat. We shared a giant seafood platter (above). Nice.

I met up with Ting Wei for the movie, 'The Mummy: Tomb of the dragon emperor' at AMK hub. The movie turned out to be quite simplistic and donned the usual CGI effects stuff for most of it's scenes. I still prefer it's predecessor movies.
After the movie, I went to Cineleisure to meet Zelia and Derrick for lunch at Hip Diner's by Billy bombers. The food wasn't really outstanding and the portions were small. Nonetheless, we helped ourselves with whatever we had ordered to kill the hunger. The restaurant seems quite empty though. Poof, there goes Hip Diner's right down to the bottom of my list of eating places.
Oh, we took a couple of photos and taking them for us was this pretty tall China guy who seems a bit puzzled when we used english to request for him to do the honour of snapping the shots for us.
Fast-Forward- I met Roy Yue at Dhoby Ghaut,530pm and we headed down to SIS for FOP in a cab. FOP was quite..... ok la. Nothing like it's hype in the previous years. I was quite inspired by the sermon though.

Today marks the end of my OUV phase of the driving course, leaving the remaining 2 DCP training sessions on Monday and Tuesday before calling it an official end.
It's quite good to know that I'm finally able to go back to unit. Driving is fun and what I really need is more confidence when handling difficult road situations. I want to handle them well and not weasel around sheepishly.
I went to Fong's house today to get a couple of PSP games from him like Harry Potter and the goblet of fire, Sonic Rivals, Guilty Gear to name a few. Fong is really one of those people who plaster their every moment either thumbing on the buttons of the PSP or basically devouring every issue of anime comics. His house was located at Sembawang; a modest little HDB flat which was quite neat. He had a nephew who was really being childishly noisy and in every sense of the word cute both at the same time. He is only 3 years old I guess.
After a prompt 45 minutes or so, I left at about 830pm and headed for the gym. Oh boy, I think I'm becoming a 'gym addict'. I simply love that place; a very weird exclamation coming from me if it was 5 months back. Maybe it's because of an ambition that I cannot compromise. You only live once, nothing wrong with pursuing something worthwhile.
Okay, I'll end here. Back to reading my book and playing my new PSP games.
I'll leave it to you to figure out how I manage both at once.
