I was just browsing through some photos online and I found these cutsy images that I thought you might be interested in viewing. Hopefully, he doesn't kill me. hehe..=p

Now that's a nice posture. Hmm, where have I seen this before? hmm..

Oh! It was the oh-so-famous Britney posture on the cover of Rolling stones!

Family. Ours to call,home.
Thursday, July 28, 2005

My dad decided to call for a family dinner today.
Wow, it's been a while since we had one.
Everyone were like bubbles of joy in the car, excited and anticipating. Well, we had a little bit of difficulty choosing the venue to dine in, driving around Toa Payoh. Different suggestions were being thrown out one after the other- Buffet, chinese restaurant etc.

It wasn't until 8.09pm before we concluded on the chinese restaurant at the Yio chu kang grassroots club.
Haha.. the food served there were quite tasty and we did enjoy ourselves much except for the fact that the waitresses were always standing nearby with their eyes fixated at the tables, ours in particular. Well, too good a service maybe?

My whole family went to the pool place just outside the restaurant afterwards to play pool. How cool is that, I've never seen my family play pool... =p There were also many game machines stationed outside the restaurant... some to which my youngest brother enjoyed playing very much.

All of us left the brightly-lighted place at slightly before 11am ( school the next day for my brothers!).
It's a few hours gone now and there they are sweet in slumber cuddled in the big house of Countryside road, under the spill of the moonlight. It is definitely heart-warming sight.

The reckoning
Tuesday, July 26, 2005

ahh... this week's supposed to be the 'study break' for the common test taking place during the next 7 days after this weekend. I haven't done enough to suffice my preparation and time isn't alongside me, sadly.
No. no.. I'm gonna stack up more maths papers for me to practise on. I can make it. I will make it.

ok, now for a side-track, I was chatting with Terrence hui, someone whom I mistaken to look so much like somebody else aka dexter's friend. Well, he seem quite a composed guy.. or so I thought. Anyway, the conversation with him reaped me a photo of Dexter and him in Japan last year. Oh my, Dexter and his hair style surely is immortalised forever into this image . Alright, I shall make fun of him no more lest he kills me. Sorry Dexter. =p

Dexter and his band. now that's cool.

Back to polishing my halo.
(this line was a rip-off)

The beat's gonna get you
Monday, July 25, 2005

'I've had a great day today'. That sentence sounds like how I describe my every other day ,doesn't it? Haha.. be not deceived, I too have my down and outs.
Anyway, Pastor preached about leadership today and I really learnt truckloads, especially on the part of being self-motivated. Although I've been through this sermon a number of times, it sure impacted me again; a refreshing.

This is Kristopher fu, a Catholic high student.
well, he is one crazeeeeeeee sec 2, being one of the greenie pants.
The cat high blood runs...haha.. I'm glad to be from Catholic high primary. =)

Going home together with the rest of the 'northerners' was another highlight of my day. Wow, they sure can make a LOT of noise with their laughter and yes, the whole train was practically shaking. Of course we were mature enough to stop the noise asap lest someone complains and we ourselves needed to be examples to others.
We took a couple of photos with our handphones too.

Yeah. Those were the mad people.. haha.

Cool mad people.

THE people.

Below are the biographies of two famous people
Who's changing the world? You tell me.

Kylie Minogue
While Impossible Princess represented another major career turning point in Australia -- Kylie Minogue's transition to a concert performer -- in Europe the album was not considered a success. In 2000, she was encouraged by the Pet Shop Boys to switch to their label, Parlophone, and she re-emerged as the pop princess of old with the critical hit Light Years. The single "Spinning Around," went number one in both England and Australia. Her reign in music continued in 2001. Minogue issued Fever in October on the heels of the successful single "Can't Get You Out of My Head." Such hype around the song allowed it to become an global smash, earning Minogue two Brit Awards in February 2002 for "Best International Female" and "Best International Album" for Fever. Shortly thereafter, Fever was released in the U.S. on Capitol, landing Minogue her biggest U.S. hit with "Can't Get You Out of My Head" in nearly fifteen years. Spots on MTV's TRL and Saturday Night Live proved her power.
Without anything approaching Madonna's musical strength, like Madonna Minogue has ensured her survival with imaginative videos and by keeping fans guessing and intrigued with consistent changes of personal image. She has also appeared in a number of movies over the years. 1999's Cut with Molly Ringwald was her eighth film appearance. ~ Ed Nimmervoll, All Music Guide

Billy Graham
Billy Graham was born on a dairy farm in North Carolina in America. His family were Christians and attended Church. He learnt a lot about the Bible but did not have a personal relationship with God. In 1934 he responded to a preacher at a revival meeting and was a changed person. He wanted to go to a Bible college and started selling brushes door to door to earn the money for the course.
Soon Billy Graham was preaching on all opportunities. He found that people responded to his preaching and that when the time came for an alter call they came up in great numbers to accept Christ.
Billy Graham went to Wheaton Bible college in 1940 and met he wife to be. He graduated in 1943 and was married the same year. Then an opportunity came his way that changed his life significantly. He was offered the chance to take over a radio program and he was very popular. People responded to his preaching without even seeing him, he preached life and that is what people want. Very soon Billy Graham was preaching to audiences of thousands of people and he had to choose between being a travelling evangelist or a church pastor. He chose the former
When the war finished, Billy Graham came to England with Torrey Johnson. The English were shocked by Graham and his message of sin and salvation. And many people accepted the alter calls to go up to the front to accept Christ.
In 1949 Billy Graham had a big tent revival in Los Angeles. In eight weeks he drew 350,000 people including many celebrities who accepted Christ. He was now known throughout America. A series of successful crusades followed. In 1950 he launched a weekly radio program across the United States. He formed the Billy Graham Evangelic Corporation and began a film company and a television show called the 'Hour of Decision'. One important thing that Billy Graham did was to always treat black and white people as equal. As he continued with a series of successful crusades in America and all over the world, he was drawn more and more into the racism within America. He spoke out against this racism with the message of the gospel of love and helped various presidents with the tough decisions that needed to be made.
In 1977 Billy Graham had his first crusade in a communist country, within ten days he was preaching to huge crowds. In 1984 Billy Graham had his first crusade in Russia and soon followed this with a crusade in China.
In 1992 Billy Graham, aged 73, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. His response was to embark on a world-wide campaign to use satellite broadcasting to reach one billion people with the Word of God.

My Friend. My King. My God.
Thursday, July 21, 2005

God. A word so seemingly foreign to most people, even Christians.
We have many different things revolving around our lives that most of the time we are always slanted towards using our strength to handle them. It is only at the point of desperation before we call out to God for help. I was thinking, why don't we call upon His Name at the start instead and trust in Him to help us solve problems? Why don't we tap on His power?
God is always waiting for us to call out to Him...His face lights up as a matter-of-factly!

Some people only remember Him on Sundays. Some do not even regard Him, sadly.
To certain, God is just an old man upstairs waiting to hurl a lightning bolt at you while others think that He cease to exist or even if He does, He is too busy to take care of our problems.

I have been a Christian for many years now and each year is a step closer to Him.
I haven't been such a good person before I gave my heart to God if you know me then. One prominant dent in my character was anger and hate. Scolding and abusing others was like an everyday thing for me. I did try to curb it at times for my own good but always to no avail.. not until the day I decided to follow my God, Jesus Christ, many years ago. I can surely testify of His goodness and yes, He has indeed helped me in my anger problem... plus many other things. It is always a great joy to know that we have someone who will always be there for me in times of sadness, laughter and STRESS! My God is love. I only want to give Him the best of me and nothing less.

haha.. that's me.
The questions that only you can answer are,
how much do you treasure Him?
How much are you willing to lay down just to say 'Your will, not mine'?
Love Him for Him and not what He can give.

It is always easy to call Him a saviour, not close enough to call Him a God.

"We came in peace..."
Monday, July 18, 2005

Cathay was having their 70th anniversary for the last three days and their cinemas were generously giving out two movie passes per advertisement cut out from the newspapers for that particular day. I didn't give it a miss because I wanted to catch the highly acclaimed film by Steven Spielberg-WAR OF THE WORLDS while it was still on the big screens. Qing xiang, Lixing,Jackson and me paid homage to the cinemas at 4.30pm earlier this afternoon.

Now, what was so special about this movie that made it peaked the charts all over the world? well, firstly..It's a STEVEN SPIELBERG film, mind you! The highly acclaimed director was known for his works such as ET and Jurassic Park for their breath-taking CGI effects.
next, this movie is about THEM...the unfriendly beings hailing all the way from outer space.Oh yeah, you've got that right, they are none other than the aliens. Unlike ET, the aliens in this movie weren't too friendly. In fact, they sucked the blood out of humans with their tentacles that protruded out of the machines they were in and splattered them all over the earth.
Ultimately, this movie made more than a dent. Thumbs up.

Come to think of it, what if aliens do come to Earth sometime soon? Would they carry out their evil extermination plans like portrayed in the film? Or would they come in peace like how some cartoons say they would? Well, I guess if they ever came to Earth, men would welcome them with open arms because in a short time to come, there would probably be things like 'alien soup', 'alien chop' and 'alien noodles' printed on the menus of our friendly restaurant next door. Humans eat everything.. don't they?

One day our houses will be portable too...
Sunday, July 17, 2005

I've got a new laptop the day before.
It looks so cool with it's metallic silver casing.
It's a wonder how technology moves so quickly...it seems like only a few days ago when desktops were hot on the shelves... now everyone is going for the the smaller prototypes-the laptops!
Trust me, one day our houses will be portable too...
Just don't get too clever, you'll never be too sure when the machines might just invade human race, bringing the Terminator movie into reality.

Envisage it- what's your song?
Friday, July 15, 2005

The poly team had CG in my house today. We had truckloads of fun playing the bible-whacko game, a game to find out who really was a bible-bashing person! haha.. and for that fact, it's a good thing. The message today was about going out to others. Jesus wasn't even afraid of tongues wagging when he talked to the samaritan woman.. He did what He had to do.

Life's been great lately though it isn't oysters on a platter.
I went to church this afternoon to get started on my video with no hump or hoot of what I'm going to achieve. So I sat in front of the computer staring blankly.
However, ideas began to flow in one by one beneath of my skull like gushing waters while I kept watching the footages over and over again. This really got me excited and hyped up!
I shan't reveal too much here. You people shall wait. haha!

A new phase of life has begun for me and I'm lovin it. =)
Whatever you envisage will come to pass, as long as you believe in it,both in actions and thoughts.
What's your song?

Commitment: It seperates the doers from the dreamers
Thursday, July 14, 2005

I cannot begin to emphasize on the importance of commitment. This is one of the main qualities that speaks of character and will seperate the doers from the dreamers; the leaders from the norm.

Story goes such that Michelangelo was a very good sculpturer. However, the pope assigned him a job to do a painting. Michelangelo hesitated at first but accepted it anyway. His commitment to the pope in painting the sistine chapel was far-reaching costing him 4 years of his life, wearing him out and damaging his eyesight at the same time. However he kept pressing on until the work was done and this sparked off a huge impact in the artistic community to which even fellow painter Raphael was inspired to change his style.

That is what I call true commitment- a serious promise to keep getting up and fight till the very end. Commitment is tested through actions despite feelings. Nothing is easier than saying words but nothing is more difficult that living them day after day.

Commitment means differently to everyone:

To the soldier, it is going over the hill not knowing what's on the other side
To the missionary, it is saying goodbye to your own comfort to make life better for others.
To the marathoner, it is clicking another 10 miles after all your strength is gone.
To Jesus, it meant hanging on the cross for us despite the pain and heartbreak.

Be an all-out people, people who set goals, commit to them and pay the price to reach them.
Remember, commitment will see you through, somehow.

Short and sweet makes the day
Sunday, July 10, 2005

Today's Sunday! wow.. I still remembered myself eagerly expecting this very day to come since last monday and sure enough, it came quicker than i expected...
haha.. anyway, why do I always expect sundays? well, the reason is because it's the day where everyone come together in a cool place to worship and praise God and also to learn more about life's stories and God's way of handling them. The place? well, it's called HoGc.

Two of my friends came to church today-Shurn and Joseph. I'm really glad they enjoyed it there. What's up today? well.. it was Pastor Tan from CHC preaching about leadership. He really brought forth his points and drove it in us all the way back home.

The momentum is rising.. the breakthrough is coming.
I believe in You.

Tune in to our song
Thursday, July 07, 2005

You're here at last! Welcome to my new blog address.
well, I loved the line so much that I've decided to take it on as my new blog address.
You will relink me, won't you?

from Jeremy Chan

3:21 PM

Welcome to my frequency
Wednesday, July 06, 2005

Ahhh.. It's been a while since I've jotted down something about my life into this weblog. Well, I guess half the year's gone now, in the twinkle of an eye and just like the shadows, it managed to creep away silently while we are caught in the hustle and bustle of the thing called LIFE.
What have I achieved so far? well, plenty I guess, breakthroughs, good grades etc etc. haha.. Yeah..everything went as planned.
What I'm going to achieve for the other half of this year is the main thought now.. Surely I'm not gonna let this year off without leaving a mark on it. It's gonna be special.

Recently, I read up on the topic known as Einstien's theory of relativity for curiosity's sake but never managed to grasp whatever the online tutorials were talking about though. Such deep stuff... such nonsense.. a human effort to question God.. foolish.

I was lying down on my bed just the other day when this thought struck me. What if, everything we have now.. every memory we held dear never actually happened? What if one day the people you knew never recognised you anymore? What if beneath those pale yellowish skin of those people were actually machines? Haha.. hold it there. Now, that's a scary thought. Sounds a lot like a mixture of the Terminator and the Forgotten. Many 'what ifs' in life leaves us staggering for a moment but there's one that will never need any thought...
What if the God you knew never existed?-Then I will not live.
He is the air I breathe.. without Him, I die.. as simple as that.

I hate to say goodbye so here's a hello and welcome-to the end of today's post. haha!

5:35 PM

NYP housed a frenzy today
Tuesday, July 05, 2005

David Beckham came to my campus today. The students went in swarms, skipping lessons to catch a passing glimpse of the caucasian football icon. It would be nice if I were bestowed such treatment every single day I step into the premise... I wish! haha..
I wouldn't be a wee-bit excited or enthralled even if I scored myself his autograph. Come on people, seeing Jeremy is as good as seeing a hundred becks!

Destiny fulfilled? ...not without God
Monday, July 04, 2005

I came across this article recently regarding Destiny's Child's official announcement of their split taking place on 10th September. The music scene praises them, the fashion scene worships them, their legion of fans adore them and Fame herself has embraced them.. To date, these phenomenal darlings of pop have spawned many chart topping albums under their belts and dropped many #1s. Still remember the hit with the violin heavy intro-Survivor? Does the gyrating number 'Independent women' ring a bell? well, all these were from them.

Sad to say, sometimes the world can get so unhumanely hysterical about chasing after celebrities. Some fans can be so disillusioned to the point whereby they treat these people like gods with their everyday lives devoted to their love. Now picture this-what if there comes a day these idols are scraped off the scene? What if they are no more? Will their source of happiness be taken away altogether?

Sorry to burst your bubble but that's harsh reality for you. No one pop superstar will be permanently etched forever. Now, whoever remember people like- Elvis presley? Madonna? Does anyone care anyway? haha.. that's my point. Your once oh-so-popular figures will soon fade away with time.

I guess it's okay to be smitten with these stars occasionally but if they were to set foot centrestage of ur life... U better be on high alert. Obession kills... trust me.

Go after something worthwhile. Go after things that are forever. Call me weird but I would rather be zealous over the things of God. In time to come, heaven and earth will pass away but these things will remain. I know my purpose and I have a destiny. I know what I'm doing and I know where I'm heading. Now that's certainly more than life.
