My cousin... ain't she cute?

1:31 PM

I watched Spiderman 2 on my computer just now. Apparently, it took me a whole night to download the two clips (1of2 and 2of2, get it?) but it was worth the wait anyway. My mind was subconsciously reminising of what happened some time back while I was watching it. haha.. I was thinking of the time when Wendy, Charlotte, Jie ying and me were catching the film on the big silver screen. That time, I was helping Jieying to integrate her school mates, Wendy and Charlotte during their early stages in HOGC and yes, catching the Spiderman movie was our idea. If I'm not wrong, we sat on the first row with our heads tilted up as we saw the webcrawler jumping up and down buidlings and cars... I got very dizzy a few times and I vowed never to get first row seats in the future. Well, not that we had a choice that time because Spiderman was and always has been a big hit with Singaporeans... so yeah. We may have grown older but in us still lives a child-like taste for such superheroes I guess. Well, spiderman may be gone for now but I know of one Superhero that will never leave nor forsake us. haha..

anyway, I have the neoprints below ! haha..

Wendy, Charlotte and Ying : Remember this? 'GO GET THEM TIGER!' 'YOU WANNA HAVE SOME CAO MIAN?'

We'll go watch Spiderman 3 in the future someday, again... yeah? haha!

Do you see a young woman? Or were your eyes playing tricks on you perceiving it as an old lady? well, your guess is as good as mine.

Life's the same. Sometimes we rub shoulders with situations that forces us to stop in our tracks and think for a second. Have you ever seen a situation in one light only to find out later that it wasn't as bad as you thought earlier? Have you ever made a regretful decision because you viewed the whole situation too narrowly? I guess everyone have gone through times as such. It has all got to do with our perspective in life-the way we view and handle things.

Don't you find it simply not logical sometimes when two person meet up with the identical situation but end up with different destinies whilst one makes the best of it and live happily ever after, the other fret so much and make the wrong decision in the end.

Life's perspective can be picked up on the way from many different situations I guess, none of it is inherent. Why not try looking at things from all possible angles, maybe they aren't as bad as we think they are-this will contribute largely to how we respond.

Most importantly- W.W.J.D (What Would Jesus Do)- God's view on things is definitely the best one.

Have you ever encountered a situation where your relationship with your best pal turned sour in a span of a few months? Well, what would you do? Would you break down and die? Or would you continue giving life the best of you? Maybe..........
it's good riddance to bad rubbish... don't you think?

There's one quote which will aptly wrap up this section
- I cannot choose the things that happen to me but I can choose the way I respond to them.

till next time.

2005 Live worship album:God He reigns
Wednesday, June 29, 2005

Hillsong's new album out soon...I wait, anticipating.
-Preview tracks here

The Lights came down, and thunderous music echoed throughout the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Fast paced visuals of hands worshipping, and a call to worship resonated across the projector screens. Hundreds of dancers filled the auditorium and stage, moving in singular form to the sound of 'praise'...as the 500 plus voice choir erupted in song 'Praise, in the Highest!'

Beautiful memories
Tuesday, June 28, 2005

Just wanna write something short about my cousins- Serene jie jie and Bernard kor kor. hahahaa... yes! The words 'jie jie' and 'kor kor' will be strung along with their names whenever I call them-even till now.

I remember those times when I stayed over at their house in BEDOK. I used to dance along the tune of the piano played by Serene Jie jie and Bernard Kor kor. Oh my, those were the early stages of my liking for dancing and it has certainly grown now.

And I was always afraid to take baths in the main toilet because of the turtles in there... ahh.. those dreaded creatures... are they still alive now? That I don't really know.

Playing till late was a must whenever I stayed over. I still remember setting up those mini 'stalls' which sold different stuff to the 'customers'. I also took up the role as a mini 'chef' cooking paper bits, pretending that they're food.
I can surely conclude that a child's imagination is a powerful thing.

well, many years have gone by now... but the fond memories still lingers. Beautiful.

alright, I shall stop here. Hahahaha

My soul sings once more
Monday, June 27, 2005

I feared it once but not anymore cos today I proclaim my liberation. I'm not perfect but God loves me the same. I've overcome! I've conquered! It's end has brought about a new genesis. Let the white dove sing again for the winter in my soul has ceased, finally.

I was listening to the radio just the other day and they were doing a movie review on the movie 'Batman Begins'. They said many marvellous things about this movie and even gave it a 4/5 star rating.

Well, when it comes to the media, you've just got to take everything with a pinch of salt, or so i thought...
Bryan Yee and me caught the movie today at the Bishan Golden Village cinema. Apparently,we were bored and on top of that, I had a free movie ticket which I guess I wouldn't be using anytime soon so I've decided to put it into use today lest it expires. haha..
Alright, back to the movie...

I found the whole movie plot to be well planned out.. Christian Bale aka Batman had this something about him when he acted in the movie... let's say he emitted the X-factor that appealed.
The movie pictured the usual cars flying, guns blasting-action expected in every Batman Movie.
The villian in this installment was the hideous Scarecrow(whatever happened to his hat?).
He had this drug that comes in the form of water vapour which causes victims to hallucinate their worse fears. Truthfully, being an all time Batman series fan, I've never known Scarecrow to possess this 'super-power'. The only fact that I know about the Scarecrow is the swinging around of his deadly sickle which somehow did not take place in the movie. That poor guy was portrayed as weak and died in the hands of a woman. Sad case.

Unlike the earlier versions, 'Batman Begins' did not really emphasize on the villians much but more on Batman and his beginning... duh.

Overall, the movie did make an impact in some way. A well deserving 4/5 stars indeed.

haha.. The Joker is up next in the next installment which will be releasing not so soon I guess. haha.. How exciting.

My weekend was definitely a great one.

A few indonesian friends,Yvonne,Gina and I made a trip down to Sentosa on Saturday. We did the usual things everyone would do whilst in Sentosa- swimming, play volleyball etc.
While I was floating in the the mirky waters under the spill of the sun..it dawned on me that I haven't visited Sentosa in a long time. The beauty of the island was indeed captivating.
We caught the stunning 'Musical Fountain' at 8.40pm. The different coloured laser beams hit the twirling jets of waters creating a many stunning patterns which in turn sparked off a whole different ambience in each combination. The people seated were 300 or so. Indeed, colours can depict many moods... that's why I love art in the first place. That magical night really made me admire Singapore in the aspect whereby even though it is a small country itself, it's innovations are never ending. Polytechnics are the start of the endless road to such innovations... Com'on people, abandon those JC books! haha.. Just joking.
Hey, polytechnic people do study Jc stuff too okay! Partial Fractions, AP GP, Higher order integration and differentiation, diodes, fourier series (university yr one topic)... and the list goes on.We ended off the day with dinner at Burger King.

I caught the motion picture 'Mr and Mrs Smith' at Cineleisure Cinema on friday. It wasn't exactly a movie that will turn heads or garner endless praises on lips but it did work out to be a little above average. Well, truthfully I prefer Tomb Raider to that movie in terms of movies which Angelida Jolie starred in.

I met Da lun opposite cineleisure on the same day. I guess he couldn't recognise me but I don't blame him cos this was the first time we ever saw each other in real life. haha.. nah, we didn't talk.
I just shouted out his name, waved at him and walked off. I only know one thing about him that is he can draw pretty well.

I'm currently very excited because there are different ideas for my next video that are swimming in my head now.
Bringing my video quality one notch up is a definite must!
Monday is here. The start of a new week... just before you label the day as dreadful or sian, do remember that destinys can spark off in ordinary days like these. Value it.
Look further... I guess it's another day nearer to the next weekend, isn't it?

nursing a sore throat now.
haha.. God bless. Nite.

EMERGE CONFERENCE was awesome. Impactful.

Nuggets from the leadership files
Tuesday, June 07, 2005

We all need to deal with three realms; the past, the present and the future. We can't escape the past by trying to live in the future.

We need to deal with the past first, then the present, then the future.Unresolved offences, unconfessed sins, unpaid bills, unsaid apologies and unwritten letters will torpedo both our present and future.

Then we need to secure our present. Create patterns and systems to live by, organise work and play - establish priorities and commitments. Our foundation is solid.

Now our dreams, prayers and plans are on a solid foundation for the future.

The greatness of a dream is how many other dreams it holds.

Happy birthday Garrett
Sunday, June 05, 2005

I attended Garrett's birthday party today held at SAFRA poolside bistro. It was a cool place and the food there was very nice. Also present with me were almost half the church... well, maybe that was a little too exaggerating but there were indeed many people.

I remember that some of the leaders had an impromptu surprise for Garrett... actually for all of us! haha.. it was aptly called 'SAFRA SAFARI'
We were taken on a tour around SAFRA and on the way we met many 'animals'... well, you see, it was a safari wasn't it and animals were must-haves. But the thing was that these 'animals' were the leaders acting as different ones... sooo funny. hahaa..we laughed till our way back.

I enjoyed my day.
Leader of 20s... soon.

Generations
Thursday, June 02, 2005

It's my first week in school and I'm already in the middle of it! time flies.
Well, school's become a totally new experience for me. Looks like things are starting to be better once I focus. haha.. I've made friends with many new year ones. Cool bunch.
There is definitely a surge of excitement and adrenaline whenever I see them because it's EV time and I have one semester to do that. =)

I'm also quite satisfied with the way everything is running now. I'm able to pack in 8 out of the usual 6 modules in my timetable and yet arrange it in such a way that things are not too heavy for me to bear in a single day.
Last night, I was able to sleep in a little later because I realised that my school starts at 4pm and ends at 6pm today. haha..
I guess the saying is very true, 'If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.'

The maths I'm doing now is challenging but I love it.
Partial fractions, higher level integration and the notorious Fourier Series which no one JC person has ever heard of.. maybe it's a university topic because I did asked my tuition teacher who is studying in university.. and he said he learnt it there. haha.. how sweet.

I bought a white T shirt with a huge shape of a monkey imprinted on the front two days ago.. apparently the name of the T-shirt is known as 'Drunken monkey',don't ask me why.
It was a size too big for me but I wore it to school then the church the next day anyway complementing it with my baggy jeans and DC shoes.
KS commented 'wow! how come you look so happening today? you look very nice in these outfit'
haha..

to KS: thanks dude! haha.. your comments certainly brightened up my day.

to Jamie(Hogc): hahahaa.... hahahahahaha... I saw what you wrote on ur blog... my breath will give u life... not eternal though, otherwise it would be blasphemy.

You see, sometimes you don't really have to try too hard to figure out this life. Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to say you don't have to plan your life or dream big dreams or think about your future. What I'm saying is that sometimes you don't really have to fret through life... things can be good and will work out for you if you decide to put God first in everything. Allow Him to work through you. Expect miracles.
That's my story.

This saturday is Garrett's birthday party. hahaa... I'm sure it will be a blast. Many people are hitting or have passed the major 21 nowadays. Treasure what you have now and make use of every single moment of today.. Time will not wait for you and very soon the days of your prime will be gone... well, then again... that's the beginning to adulthood where you meet new challenges and proceed on to new levels. Breathe in life.

to Garrett: Happy advanced Birthday!!!

I'm chatting with Lian Jie whilst typing all these stuff down. He's a cool guy and he's going for attachment soon. =D

Time to fly, destiny calls.
